Dr. Ling Li is a Professor in the Department of Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology and the VFW Endowed Chair in Pharmacotherapy for the Elderly in the College of Pharmacy at the University of Minnesota (UMN). Dr. Li also holds joint faculty appointments in the Neuroscience (GPN) and Molecular Pharmacology and Therapeutics (MPaT) graduate programs in the Medical School of UMN. The research in Dr.
William C. K. Pomerantz is a McKnight Presidential Fellow and Merck Professor Chemistry in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Minnesota. Prof. Pomerantz received his B.S. in chemistry from Ithaca College in 2002, followed by a Fulbright Fellowship at ETH, Zürich with Professors François Diederich and Jack Dunitz. He obtained a Ph.D. in chemistry under Professors Sam Gellman and Nick Abbott at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and was a postdoctoral fellow under Prof. Anna Mapp at the University of Michigan.
Matthew Gill, PhD is an Associate Professor in the Department of Genetics, Cell Biology & Development and a faculty member of the Masonic Institute on the Biology of Aging and Metabolism. Dr Gill’s research program uses chemical, genetic and genomic approaches to understand the molecular basis of aging in the nematode C. elegans with a focus on the insulin signaling pathway and alternative splicing. Other areas of interest include identifying geroprotective compounds and developing humanized worm models to study aging.
Dr. Do-Hyung Kim received his B.S. from KAIST and his Ph.D. from POSTECH, both in South Korea, then completed postdoctoral training at the Whitehead Institute/MIT. In 2004, he joined the Department of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Biophysics (BMBB) at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, where his lab studies the mTOR and autophagy pathways and their roles in cellular metabolic homeostasis and stress response.
Christina Camell is an Associate Professor at the Masonic Institute on the Biology of Aging and Metabolism and a faulty member of the Department of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biophysics at the University of Minnesota. She received her Ph.D. from Baylor College of Medicine and performed postdoctoral training with Dr. Vishwa Deep Dixit at Yale University. She is a recipient of the McKnight-Land Grant Professorship and the Fesler-Lampert Chair inAging Studies (2021).
Beshay Zordoky, BSc Pharm, MSc, PhD, FAHA is Professor of Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology, University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy. His research accomplishments and scholarly expertise are centered on cardio-oncology, cardiovascular pharmacology, and therapy-induced aging, specifically aiming to mitigate the cardiovascular adverse effects and other long-term complications of cancer treatments. Dr.
Cathy Kotz is Professor in the department of Integrative Biology and Physiology (IBP) at the University of Minnesota, and the Associate Director of Research for the Geriatric Research Education and Clinical Care (GRECC) unit at the Minneapolis VA Health Care System. Cathy’s research centers on obesity and metabolic aspects of aging, focusing on the targeting of central nervous system pathways to promote healthy body weight throughout aging.
Christina A. Pacak, Ph.D. is a molecular biologist whose research focuses on uncovering the mechanisms underlying rare disorders to inform the development of therapies relevant to both rare and common diseases. The laboratory has found intriguing links between hallmarks of aging and mitochondrial dysfunction across multiple rare diseases. The laboratory uses patient-derived induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), mouse models, and large animal models to investigate disease biology.
Dr. Xiao Dong obtained his PhD in bioinformatics in the Shanghai Institutes of Biological Sciences at the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2013. He completed postdoc training in the Department of Genetics at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2021. Since 2021, he started the Xiao Dong laboratory in the Masonic Institute of the Biology of Aging (MIBAM) and the Department of Genetics, Cell Biology and Development (GCD) at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.
Dr. Griffin is a Professor in the Department of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biophysics at the University of Minnesota.
